March 12th to March 18th

Well I feel good after last week, it was a difficult and challenging week but I got through it mostly unscathed. This week was tough with the weather turning nasty, some days where thin for output and some days where prolific ….. well you get that.

For those who came in a late 😉 The neatest most correct entry is, I guess, a bit of an in joke with Aussie’s of certain age. At school if they couldn’t find anything else positive to tell you about your work they would give you the “Neatest most correct” award.

Billy Birmingham in his 12th man comedy series makes a background comment “…… and New Zealand win their 12th gold medal, this one for neatest most correct entry in the spinnaker competition …….”

That was the games where Oz got like 4 medals total and EN Zed got 12 golds.

All for sailing.

I guess you had to be there 😉

enjoy

cheers

Mar 12th:

Holy freezers Batman was it cold today. I got out at Bond St and headed east for a few blocks then turn, north then west. Not much happening, no one much around since it is -1c,  then this scene struck me – BLUE sky! To hell with the cold, there is blue sky, something we haven’t seen in a while.

Enjoy it while you can team.

Mar 13th:

The cold snap continues! My goodness me it is just bloody miserable today, but on on as the Hash House Harriers used to say.

Nothing in the morning, it was just dreadful conditions. I have eyed off this scene for a while and thought I would give it a go. I was wondering why the first few shots where blurry?

I realised I was shaking a lot with cold, so I did a quick lap of the block to warm up, dropped to my knee, took the shot, took the reverse shot and legged it to the station just as a weird mixture of snow, hail and heavy rail started.

Mar 14th:

Okay more crap weather, but it is a Photo-A-DAY blog so thats the deal. Tried my hand this morning but the cold just hurt to be out in. At lunch it was a bit nicer but no winners. On the way home it was actually pleasant enough to be out, so I shot around Baker St station a bit and nabbed this one.

Well there was two good’uns but sometimes one must choose which is the favourite child. The other child appears at the end.

Mar 15th:

A classic case of always have your camera with you and always have it ready to go. I had headed to Euston Station this morning on the Northern line (Oh how I loathe thee Northern line) I walked west to work to get some new scenery and check out what’s shakin’ up that way.

Some interesting stuff, but no real winner. Well it was drinks night at work so did that and just as I was leaving I saw this, an abandoned beer sitting outside in the rain.

Is there any more sorry a sight to see.

Mar 16th:

Into town this morning to get some bits for the electrics on my motorbike. we went to Foyles bookshop for a coffee and a search for some new books, I picked up the latest in the Dune series.

Obviously I took photos as we wandered around, got some good stuff, but this was literally grabbed as we headed to Charing cross station

Mar 17th:

Met up with Damo and Nikki for some food and chat over at Pimlico food stop Pimlico Fresh, all of us have been hibernating a little lately.

What a shocking day, overcast, cold and raining. Really all the things that are crap for this style of photography. Well just got to keep and open mind and do what you can. Went into Victoria station and tried some low shutter speed stuff. Inspired by some of those mobile phone adds where they do flash mob dancing.

This one is more to my liking

Mar 18th:

Rough end to the week. Went to Regents Park Station via the Bakerloo line, by the time I was topside it was 0850 so had to leg it to work, so no joy. Lunch time was just non stop rain, then this evening after work was no better.

So this was a bit of a reminder that when things are a bit tough, there are others doing it tougher.

This is the side of the church near work, this is also someones bed for tonight.

Neatest most correct entry:

Reverse angle, tough choice

This weeks motorbike, these are so messed up I love them.

The other nearly favourite child

Roofs off at London Bridge, may as well make hay while the sun ………. never mind.

My attempt at Henri Cartier Bresson shoot from the chest into a guitar store

Read the sign, gang what more could you want??!!

Just another pleasant scene from central London

WTF were they thinking:

Why would you get a lovely building and stick a crap chain store vomit hole at the bottom that gives no respect to the actual architecture

Here’s one council planning officer who will never quite get that Queens honour.

So post modern:

I really have no words
