Well I survived week one! With a few good ones and some silly ones. The light changes everyday so I find I have to plan a bit more than what I have been used to for a while. The other cool thing is I am discovering new coffee shops everyday!!
Enjoy
Cheers

Jan 8th:
Managed to miss the early train but still made it to Bond street with enough spare time for the walk to work and a bit of a look around for some shots. You have to look everywhere, up, down, around …… I found this sad vision of chairs cast off sitting down in a basement forecourt, faded glory from a simpler time.
Jan 9th:
I can’t seem to get my shit together to get the earlier train, could be the fact I still have this damn cold lingering around which is not letting me have a uninterrupted nights sleep.
Found out today my colleague Elaine and I have had our submission to do a work shop at the BCLA this year accepted, we have to give a 1.5hrs workshop on using a SL-OCT machine
Best learn how to use that then hey 😉 !
Giraffe burgers anyone?!
Jan 10th:
Raining this morning so just went straight to Baker St on the tube, headed straight for the coffee shop and decided on a shot of the classic street sign. Supposed to be clearer tomorrow. Have the bad boy camera with me today so I can do head shots of my colleague and I for this conference workshop, so instead of a quick shot with the small camera it gets a bit more noticed.
Other noted Baker St identity.
Jan 11th:
Ran out of time for head shots yesterday so got the bad boy with me again, had a place to go and shoot, and the bloody lights where off, should have done it the other day, that will learn me!
Heavily overcast this morning, sitting having coffee and looked up just as the sun cracked through the cloud, grabbed this shot, then look back and the light was gone.
Jan 12th:
Caught up with mates in town in Chinatown area for a bowl of hot dumplings since it was nearly freezing temps, we then moved on for a Macchiato on Charing Cross road, then over to Covent Gardens to check out the Map shop and some outdoor shops, finished up having bratwurst sausage at Herman the Germans!!
Save me falling into the trap of photographing my coffee or plate of food as some lame attempt at “P-a-D” I had this idea in mind:
Jan 13th:
Been inside all day doing this blog and finishing other projects, went out for an afternoon walk with our upstairs neighbours, nice couple, as we went past Goose Green I saw the light on these terrace houses, nice result I thought. A few seconds later the horizon cloud rose and that was it for the picture opportunities today.
Jan 14th:
There was half an attempt at snow today so when I emerged from Bond St station it was fairly overcast and uninspiring, this public toilet entrance caught my imagination though. It is so symmetrical, neat and correct
Neatest most correct entry:
Some mornings there are heaps of stuff and others there is nothing, this is my favourite books store on Marylebone High St, Daunts is just so classic you go there even to pretend to buy a book its so cool. This was just before the sun got up over the buildings, Giraffe burgers won the day.
Walked out of Bond St tube on tuesday (8th) morning and saw this, just had to grab it!! I liked the chairs more for a P-a-D
Instagramitis: This is what I alluded to earlier about photographing your food or coffee. Its lazy, its uninspiring and does not make compelling imagery. So stop doing it.
Getting even closer does not make it any more exciting either.
So stop it, now go outside and look for something compelling to photograph, or get into a studio and do some stuff there.
Binz my man, I still see you've got this thing about hanging around 'public toilets'.
Thought with the move to the motherland!, you would'nt risk that behaviour!!! hehehe
Cheers girlfriend, Tanya
I thought when I moved to the Motherland none of my weird mates from back home would have found me.
Dammit all to hell 😉
