January 15th to January 21st

Well week 3 and still getting it done, somedays are a real struggle with the cold, lack of light and the lack of life in the city at first thing. But I seem to be able to crack it each day.

Enjoy

Cheers

Jan 15th:

I had to take the bad boy camera with me today to do finally do those headshots for the conference website. Unfortunately because of this cold I had little sleep so was really draggin my feet this morning, I picked up over the day and made use of having access to a great high ISO camera.

Jan 16th:

Another slow day health wise and another day of cold and half snow, flat light and low energy do not make for masterpieces, however I am constantly fascinated by the availability of outdooor dining even during adverse weather

Jan 17th:

Well woke with a little more energy today and made the early train, popped out at Bond St to WOW!! the sun had just broken the horizon of the city buildings and it was just scintillating all round. I looked down the road and could see Selfriges looking great, even as I rushed down there as best I could, I could see the light changing but got this shot anyway just to show how stunning a grey old city like London can be.

Jan 18th:

No clinics today so have a day off, all I do at the moment is cough and bloody cough. I can say 4 words without having a coughing fit. Went over to the doctor and she told me what I suspected anyway, that I have a really bad cols and nothing else. Oh just keep coughing then. I di however take time to go for a walk around Goose Green and stop at our local bakery for some lunch.

Jan 19th:

Went to the Outdoor show at Excel arena today. Oh local train station was closed so to get there we walked to Peckham Rye station, then caught an overland to Lewisham, then swapped over to the DLR rail, we had to swap twice to get onto the right track for Excel centre. We met some friends there and had coffee to warm up before taking in the show. The show as a bit of a disappointment however afterwards we decided to go home via the new cable car across the Thames river.

Jan 20th:

Well it continues to snow so snow continues as a theme for cold and damp sunday. A trip to the store for some groceries and a stop at the bakery is all we felt like managing after a huge day out yesterday. No takers for the outside seats at the local pub, not even the smokers were up for it.

Jan 21st:

What a day! Well what a way to start the day, wander over to the station to get the train, just as I get there half of London is walking back down the ramp – The train line is dead, snapped through ice build up – Pharquin hell! So walk back up the road to the busstop which has a sea of humanity standing at it,4 buses come along and none stop, all are full. So I retreat inside to the bakery (conveniently placed at this busstop) for a coffee and watch the crowd outside for about 20 mins, it eventually thins and I step outside and straight onto a bus WooHoo!

By the time I emerge from the underground I have about 30 secs to take my photo of the day and get cracking, lucky for me the local park is covered in snow and so looks topical.
