February 19th to February 25th

What a great week. The weather was not on my side in the mornings, mostly cold and overcast, some mornings it was raining which makes it a bit tough to get a shot.

Most of the images where done at lunch and on the way home. My time in the mornings hasn’t been wasted though, I have walked the streets in many directions looking for new subjects and angles.

Most of these do require a touch more light on them so will appear as the seasons change.

I am very happy with Feb 21st and Feb 22nd, these are straight out of the can, the bare minimum of post was required.

cheers

enjoy

Feb 19th:

Overcast and unfriendly morning, despite it being cold and crap I was determined not to walk fast. So while strolling in the tepid rainy London morning I noticed this sign out the corner of my eye, it is a lovely sign but it is down at foot path level and my guess no one ever sees it.

Reminded me of my visit to Lisbon, the place where tile art was born.

Feb 20th:

A wet morning again, I took some images despite the rain. Stopped for a coffee and decided it would be lunch time or knock off for another chance, this image was on the way home, lovely sky, was very hard to catch but the tree helped hold it all together.

Feb 21st:

Today was another day of going on a different route to normal, I walked south from Bond St. for a couple of streets before heading back north towards work. I took some shots, but really, the light was so flat and the sky so overcast. I thought about it through the day and decided if the heaviness was gone from the sky I would try an evening shot of Regent St.

Feb 22nd:

Day off today so I spent some time organising my parts for the big bike working bee on saturday. I didn’t go outside until I went over to my mate Greg’s place. Instead of the bus I caught the new overland circle line train “Crossrail” from Pecham Rye to Clapham Junction. The train is four carriages and is just one long tube without doors in between the carriages, like a bendy bus sort of thing.

Feb 23rd:

Rode down to Haselmere on the mighty VStrom, it was zero degrees and snow flurries all the way there, takes just over an hour. Not the most pleasant ride I have ever had. By the time I got back home and we had dinner I realised I had no images, so I thought I would go silly for this one.

“I think I did too much acid in the 80’s”

Feb 24th:

I don’t think this winter is going to let up! Damn trains aren’t running and I am determined to get to Greenwich to see the Ansell Adams London exhibition. We got there and spent a wonderful afternoon inside the Maritime Museum at Greenwich, being inspired by one of the really true masters of photography.

A pity the overcast weather didn’t inspire the same way!

Feb 25th:

So it seems I am to continue to have to deal with flat light. Today I was wondering if the umbiquous red phone box synonymous with England is really just an advanced form of the foam on top of your coffee?

To combat the really tragically flat lighting I decided to unleash my restraints in photoshop.

Neatest most correct entry:

This one nearly made it in, but the wasn’t quite there, I do have soft spot for it though

A gold star if you know who this is?

Yes it is –

Do you know why he is important and what it is he does?

Saint Christopher patron saint of all travellers!

The Saint Christopher House in London would have been my photo of the day as I really love the entrance way

Unfortunately there was a small problem of narcissism

What the hell is wrong with my gyroscope??? Check out these photos from Feb 21st, they are all bloody crooked –
