We are now at the very last day of 2013 and there are only two questions to be answered:
1) What will be the last photo?
2) What will I do for 2014?
First off, I think we should get an overview of this project. First suggested by Ben Liew, a photographic colleague of mine from Adelaide South Australia, it all began when I was moaning about not feeling connected to my photography anymore.
So, I took on the challenge of “Photo-A-Day” for the whole of 2013 not knowing what to do or how to present it. I just knew I had to get out there each day and get the shot. I have relearnt the tricks of available light, the tricks of working with what ever conditions you have and also to stop and smell the roses, as this lets you take in the minutiae of what’s around you.
Very uplifting and very soul fulfilling.
Each week I would photoshop, upload and write some stuff about the week, my wife Kristina would be my on-the-fly editor and chief critic to make sure I kept the standards up. Lots of mates have suffered days out with me while I wandered around to get the shot. Here in London Damien, Nikki, Douglas, Kathryn, Moira and Greg have all shown their patience.
To all of you I say thanks.
To all of you who have dropped in each week for a catch up and left comments or written to me directly, I say thanks as well.
Back to the earlier questions: answer to 2) I don’t know yet. Answer to 1) well – Damo and I were having a chat and he suggested a “selfie” since I hadn’t done one all year plus some self deprecation and knowing my lack of patience with the coffee imaging instagram crowd, he suggested the last photo should be just that, but no instagram filters, just my own self let go crazy in photoshop.
Hope it’s has been as much fun for you as it has for me.
Enjoy.
Cheers,
Ken

Workshop coffee on Wigmore St in London has recharged my batteries on many days on the way to work after walking around in the early light capturing London.
