December 24th to December 30th

A bit of a shock earlier this week, it really dawned on me that this is the last full week of Photo-A-Day for 2013. I won’t know what to do with myself next week ………… another year of PAD ………….. mmmmmmm.

Before rambling on I would like to thank all of you who have visited regularly to check out what happened during the week, thank you to all those who commented or who wrote to me to give their support and critique. If I do something next year I hope to vary it a little, I really am still hunting through my head for ideas. So stay tuned for any updates.

I will do one more day as a year ender, however this is the last full week, it coincided with me having the whole week off from work for the Christmas break, so I have tried to go out in the bleak weather and find a spot of joy each day.

We leapt on the mighty VStrom and headed south west to see some friends in Hampshire and then onto way south to Chichester. This included a walk in each area to take in some fresh air and get some pics. Was a lovely way to catch up with good friends.

The ride back was windy and damp and I luckily found a safe spot to park the bike and take a few pics before the sun set.

Anyway, thanks again for all of your support, this week is big so hope you have time and patience to get through it all.

Enjoy

Cheers

Ken

Dec 24th:

An unexpected day off from work, I popped back into town to exchange a shirt I bought. I found this shop display, it was very austere and the more I looked at it the more I thought it was a Doctor Who set.

Dec 25th:

YAY!!! Christmas day!! Popped around to the shops (owned by a Hindu, so open) to get milk and caught this leaf not 2 mins from the flat.

Dec 26th:

Damo and Nikki our great mates visited for Christmas dinner and stayed the night. We all went for a walk over to the park to reduce the effects of all the food we ate. I have always held the theory that you don’t need to go far to get a picture. Some great subjects in the local park, no problems!

Dec 27th:

Our electric kettle died late on Christmas eve, so today we picked up a new one, it is clear and has blue light in it, so like kids with a new toy we had the lights off in the kitchen and repeat boiled the water so we could watch the fun.

Dec 28th:

Today is the third anniversary of my Mum passing away. Went for a ride on the motorbike and thought about her a bit.

We rode down to Hampshire to stay overnight with our friends Elaine and George along with their children Kate and Nick.

They took us to pub for lunch then we walked to another across paddocks for a pint, then home for supper and a few rounds of “Scattergories” All in all a great time was had.

Nick – worlds most creative Scattergories answer giver!

Dec 29th:

We said farewell to our friends in Hampshire and rode east then south to Chichester to a place right on the south coast. Clive and Noeleen are motorbike friends so we spent a great time swapping tales of the road, adventures in foreign places and out of the way secret spots to go visit.

We also took a walk along the beach area after visiting a 900 year old church.

Dec 30th:

As with all rides they must eventually head back to home, so we said farewell to our friends and headed to London. I had only one chance to grab a shot on the way.
