“When words become unclear, I shall focus with photographs. When images become inadequate, I shall be content with silence.”
― Ansel Adams
The above comment by Ansell Adams was printed on one of the walls at his exhibition held at the Maritime Museum at Greenwich earlier this year, I saw it again recently.
It reminded me how many wonderful people who have wandered through my life and who vastly outnumber and help to over-shadow the small, petty, frivolous disposable ones who wish to command my attention for nil or negative return.
So thankyou to Ansell and thanks also to all the good people out there, to you all, please enjoy this weeks photos.
Cheers
Ken

Met up with Damo to lend him a camera bag for his trip and have a yak about cameras and motorbikes. Oh and our lovely ladies, we always talk about them all the time 😉
I also found my 20mm f2.8 AF, if you hadn’t worked that out from the piccie

Some days are just golden, I saw this one right next door to work, I have only been there 4 years – Got right onto that one didn’t I 🙂
Aug 8th:
Some days its tough to find an image, other days its like “Stop I have enough, save yourself for another day I am here”
Today was one of those days, hard to choose but I will go with celestial awe over post -industrial modernism
Aug 9th:
Really busy day with a rainy start so I was under pressure to get the photo-a-day done and get some cash and get to the pub for leaving drinks. Very nice of someone to leave this very cool looking bike on the side walk not far from the cash machine or pub – I rock!
Aug 10th:
What a top day out, brekkie at the local French cafe, a walk in the park (sunflowers), stroll home (power hut painted), head into town to check out camping gear then to Brixton for movies (Latino dancing). Gotta love a fun day out.
This sunflower just mesmerises me.
Aug 11th:
A lovely ride to the Dorset Arms at Groombridge to have lunch with to good friends of ours, Clive and Noleen, I took a photo of the pub since it was so classically English Sunday lunch pub, and then ran out time to do anymore photos.
Less motorbike riding and more photography maybe – Don’t make me choose !!! 🙂
Aug 12th:
Late start at work so by the time I got a chance to be outside I felt a little tight for time. When things are like this you have to re-focus your head, I just employed the “Your own backyard” brief. A famous professor in America had the philosophy that to be a great photog you have to be able to make you own backyard look exciting in a photograph, he used to get his more confident students to do this as an exercise in humility, I love the guy.
My main man Peter Klopatowski told me about him about 20 years ago
So once outside I allowed myself only the local block to walk around, sure enough I got some great stuff. This is a relief on a planter box, I am not quite sure of the origins of the artwork but possibly New Zealand ……………… 😉
Neatest most correct entry:
London Bridge on Thursday night
The Evening Standard, a free newspaper for the masses
This is an excellent way for Council and Street artist to work together – Take one ugly shitty looking sub station hut and add some street colour:
Busy bees and sunflowers
Time for some Latino dancing in Windrush square, Brixton!
Oh look its my bike!!
What were they thinking?:
This is a second hand car.
Think about that for a moment, this person has accepted brown as a colour for a sporty BMW.
It also means that the original buyer did the same.
As well as someone at BMW saying that Brown should be on the list
Someone signed off on that
No one stopped this madness on the production line either
I would not have thought the dark forces of Brown had established themselves so well!
*sigh*
